Camelina Oil
Taste:
Earthy and natural; complements root vegetables and gamey meats such as elk, bison, lamb, duck, etc.
Properties:
Refrigeratable – works great for marinades because it does not congeal in cool settings
Moderate Smoke Point – it can be heated and used to sauté and roast in the oven (cannot be used to fry)
Infuses well with other flavours – it blends well with other flavours rather than losing its own unique characteristics or overpowering other ingredients
Long Shelf Life – due to the Vitamin E content of the oil, it has a longer shelf life than most cold-pressed, highly unsaturated oils. The shelf life ranges anywhere from 2 to 3 years.
